There is no pics from today sadly, about a month before we got here a tourist dropped a camera on one of the human (reamins) skulls in the cave - unbelievable. There is a link on the bottom of the Wicki page I have attached.

This was most definitely an Indiana Jones day. We caught a bus out there into the jungle, went for a 40 min walk, crossing the river 3 times before we got to the cave. The cave tour consisted of two parts a wet part and a dry part. The wet part is very wet because the cave has a river running through it so you have to swim up the river in a cave and then climb over rocks and then swim again and more climbing and wading. You are up to your neck in some parts, you are swimming in some parts cause its so deep and then you are jumping over rocks. So cool. Once you do the wet part you climb up into the dry chamber and see some of the relics. They have heaps of pottery and tools just laying around. And the only thing to stop you touching them is a guard and a little bit of sticky tape on the ground to make sure you see the pottery. Then you walk a bit further and there are human skulls there, so crazy. And eerie. We saw a about 3 skulls there. The next part you have to climb a ladder and you see a childs skull (which was damaged about a month ago) and the last one which is a full skeleton, called the crystal maiden. That was amazing. Then out the way you came in, down the dry areas, out the river and out the entrance of the tunnel and back the jungle walk, we got back about 8-9pm

This cave was a place for Mayan sacrifices. 15 bodies have been found, and 7 are children, the bad children.

Mayan painting in town, and me - so clean shaven.
